Diane Walsh is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing at the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, The University of Texas at Dallas. Her work focuses on neurogenic speech and language disorders in adults, particularly aphasia, apraxia of speech, and cognitive communication impairments, with an emphasis on aging and lifelong disabilities. She employs advanced technologies like electromagnetic articulography (EMA) for biofeedback treatment.

Her research explores the application of biofeedback techniques for apraxia of speech rehabilitation, prosody analysis in foreign accent syndrome, and cognitive communication strategies. Recent publications highlight interventions using visuokinematic and auditory feedback to improve speech motor control in apraxia.
