Lisa Dawn Bunker is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University, specializing in Speech-Language Pathology. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Utah (2020), an M.S. in Communication Disorders from Brigham Young University (2008), and a B.A. in Communication Disorders from the same institution (2004). She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) since 2008.
- Research Focus: Assessment and treatment of neurogenic communication disorders (aphasia, acquired apraxia of speech), post-stroke recovery, brain-behavior relationships, and neuromodulation techniques (noninvasive brain stimulation, fNIRS neurofeedback).
- Laboratory: Leads the RECOvery iN NEurogenic CommunicaTion (RECONNECT) Lab.
- Teaching: Course Director for Research Methods, Aphasia, and Neurological Disease and Injury, with teaching experience in articulation disorders and neurogenic communication since 2023.
