Diane Delaney is a PhD candidate in the writing-up stage at the University of Strathclyde's School of Social Work and Social Policy. She serves as a seminar tutor, leveraging her 23 years of professional experience in nursing and social work. Her research focuses on parents'/carers' roles during interactions with professionals about children's (3-5 years) health and wellbeing in Scotland, aligning with national policies promoting parental involvement. She co-founded the Give Them Time Campaign, which successfully amended Scottish law to provide equitable funding for deferring school entry for eligible 4-year-olds. Her advocacy emphasizes integrating lived experiences with evidence-based research to drive social justice and equality.
