Debbie McLeod

Debbie McLeod is a Teaching Professor and Course Leader for the PGDE & Degrees with Secondary Teaching Qualification at the University of Strathclyde's School of Education. She leads assessment coordination, course recruitment, and curriculum development, emphasizing equity and inclusive practices. Her work integrates Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and STEM advocacy in teacher education programs.

• PGCE (Distinction), University of Strathclyde

Research Interests: Scottish education policy, STEM in primary schools, leadership development in higher education, and ESD integration in initial teacher education. She actively promotes STEM through CLPL workshops and collaborates with schools and agencies.

Advising & Grants: Leads action research projects funded by SCEL, including investigations into teacher professional update processes and ESD audits in ITE programs. Collaborates with the University of Glasgow on professional development initiatives.

Labs/Teams: Member of the Strathclyde Climate Ambassadors Network (SCAN), STEM Network, and chairs the School of Education Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing Sub-Committee. Convenor of the University Leadership in Learning Network.
