Diana Simon is an Associate Clinical Professor of Law at the James E. Rogers College of Law, University of Arizona, where she teaches legal writing, analysis, persuasion, and advocacy. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Eller College of Management. With over 20 years of teaching experience and 23 years as a practicing attorney, her expertise spans entertainment litigation, copyright, trademark, contract law, insurance coverage, and employment law. She earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law (1982) and B.A. from Washington University (1979).
Her research focuses on legal writing pedagogy, technology's role in legal education, and cross-cultural differences in legal practices. Recent articles emphasize grammar, punctuation, and AI's impact on legal education. She is a Distinguished Early Career Scholar and has advised students across all law school years.
Previously, she practiced law in Atlanta, Chicago, D.C., Los Angeles, and Tucson, holding leadership roles at firms like Korn, Waterman & Simon and Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman. Her advocacy spans intellectual property, legal writing, and real property law. She prioritizes mentoring students to become ethical professionals in a rapidly evolving legal landscape.
