Dr. Luo's research centers on architectural "prototypes" and "archetypes" in China and Buddhist Asia, examining how miniature architectural forms persisted across millennia through trans-Asian exchanges. Her book "Miniature Architecture in China: A Cross-cultural History" pioneers the study of shrines, reliquaries, and spirit vessels from Neolithic to modern eras, contextualized within Silk Road transmission of religious practices and building technologies. She integrates digital humanities methods including 3D modeling and photogrammetry, leveraging her professional architecture background. Upcoming courses include "Silk Road: Art, Archaeology, and Material Culture" and "Buddhist Art and Architecture."
