Deshan Frank Sebaratnam

Conjoint Associate Professor Deshan Frank Sebaratnam is an academic and clinical dermatologist affiliated with UNSW Sydney. He holds roles as a Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital and Visiting Medical Officer at Dubbo Base Hospital. His academic credentials include an MBBS (Hons) from UNSW, MMed (Clin Epi) from the University of Sydney, and fellowships from the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) and Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, London).

Prof. Sebaratnam's research focuses on dermatology, with expertise in skin cancers (melanoma, basal/squamous cell carcinoma), acne, psoriasis, and pediatric dermatology. He has over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and active media engagement, appearing in outlets like ABC News, Today Extra, and Marie Claire to discuss skincare and dermatological health.

His awards include the World Congress of Dermatology Rising Star and NSW Premier’s Award recognition. He supervises Doctor of Medicine and Master of Philosophy students in areas like ILP, Honours, and clinical epidemiology projects.
