Deshan Sebaratnam

Associate Professor Deshan Sebaratnam holds dual roles as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Staff Specialist in Dermatology. He is affiliated with Dubbo Base Hospital as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) and Liverpool Hospital as a Staff Specialist. His training includes an MBBS (Honours) from the University of New South Wales and an MMed (Clin Epi) from the University of Sydney, complemented by certifications such as FRCP (London) and FACD.

His research focuses on Paediatric Dermatology, Vascular Anomalies, Genetic Skin Diseases, Quality of Life, Health Economics, and Medical Education. He has conducted international fellowships in Spain, the United States, and the United Kingdom, including training at the St John's Institute of Dermatology in London and the Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid.

Professor Sebaratnam is actively involved in teaching, serving as a clinical examiner, bedside tutor, and facilitator for clinical reasoning sessions. He holds memberships in prominent organizations like the Australasian College of Dermatologists and the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies. His awards include the NSW Premier's Anthea Kerr Prize Finalist and World Congress of Dermatology Rising Star.
