Derek James Sloan

Derek James Sloan is a Reader/Consultant in Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine, University of St Andrews, and holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer position at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. His work focuses on global public health challenges, particularly tuberculosis (TB) and antimicrobial resistance. He has extensive experience in clinical therapeutics, PK-PD modeling, and programmatic interventions in low-resource settings. Sloan has led and collaborated on multiple grants, including Wellcome Trust fellowships, and contributed to projects addressing HIV/TB diagnostics and outbreak management during the Ebola epidemic in West Africa (2015).
