Derek Hoff

Derek Hoff is a Professor (Lecturer) in the Department of Management at the University of Utah. He previously served as an Associate Professor (Lecturer) in History at the same institution from 2014 to 2017. His academic background includes a BA in History from Carleton College (1994), an MA in History from the University of Oregon (1998), and a PhD in History from the University of Virginia (2006).

Hoff's research spans U.S. policy history, environmental governance, and business-history intersections, with a focus on population debates, economic citizenship, and institutional impacts on democracy. His work frequently examines historical policy-making through interdisciplinary lenses.
