Shannon Hoff is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Memorial University of Newfoundland, specializing in European philosophy, political philosophy, feminism, and aesthetics. She has previously held positions at the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto and Muskingum University in Ohio. Hoff is author of The Laws of the Spirit: A Hegelian Theory of Justice (SUNY Press, 2014) and the forthcoming How to Read Hegel Now (University of Chicago Press, 2026). Her research bridges Hegelian and Merleau-Pontian phenomenology with contemporary critical theory, focusing on oppression, gender, and the intersection of materiality and meaning.
