Dr. Derek Coyle is a Lecturer in English at Carlow College, specializing in Irish and international poetry with a focus on the intersection of place, theology, and philosophy. His academic career includes research on Michael Longley, Paula Meehan, and Derek Walcott, often employing Heideggerian frameworks. He has published poetry and literary critiques in journals like *Irish Pages* and *Orbis*, and his work has been recognized through awards such as the Patrick Kavanagh Award shortlist and the Bradshaw Prize.
Coyle holds a Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow and advanced theology degrees from Maynooth University. His community engagement includes organizing poetry workshops with Kilkenny County Council and serving as a Director of the Carlow Writer’s Co-operative.
