Dennis Quinn serves as Vice Dean and Powers Term Professor in International Business at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. He is also the co-director of the Master's in International Business and Policy, a joint degree program between Georgetown's McDonough School of Business and Walsh School of Foreign Service. Professor Quinn is affiliated with the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy (CITP).
Professor Quinn specializes in international business, political economy, and public policy. His research focuses on:
- Democratization and economic liberalization in emerging markets
- The origins and consequences of international financial liberalization
- The impact of trade on U.S. elections
- Globalization and international political economy
Professor Quinn's recent research examines the relationship between international financial openness and manufacturing productivity, particularly from a services trade perspective. His 2025 working paper published by the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy investigates how restrictions on international payments for services imports and inward investment affect manufacturing productivity, finding that lower restrictions are associated with higher productivity in manufacturing industries that rely more intensively on service inputs.
Professor Quinn teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in business, international affairs, and public policy. As Vice Dean and co-director of the Master's in International Business and Policy program, he plays a significant role in shaping Georgetown University's international business education.
