Dennis Hale is a Professor of Political Science at Boston College, where he has taught since 1978. He holds a Ph.D. from the City University of New York Graduate Center (1977) and previously served as Department Chair, Director of Undergraduate Studies, and Director of the Honors Program in Political Science. His research focuses on American Political Thought, the Founding Era, Modern States, Citizenship, Law and Politics, and Local Government. He has authored or co-edited influential works such as The Jury in America: Triumph and Decline (2016) and volumes on Bertrand de Jouvenel’s essays.
