معرفی
Dennis Boye Larsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Health Science and Technology, affiliated with The Faculty of Medicine at Aalborg University. His research focuses on neurophysiological and pain regulatory systems, particularly evoked-potentials and descending pain-inhibitory pathways. He has conducted studies in animals, healthy volunteers, and chronic pain patients, emphasizing translational research to better understand pain mechanisms.
Education:
- PhD in Biomedical Science and Engineering (2015–2019)
- Adjunct Pedagogy, University Pedagogy certification (2021–2022)
Research Interests: Pain regulation, neurophysiological systems, quantitative sensory testing, motor-evoked potentials, and translational pain studies. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
Articles: His publications explore topics like pain modulation, motor excitability changes under pain, sleep deprivation effects, and pharmacological therapies. The most cited works address systematic reviews on postoperative pain and experimental pain models.
Awards:
- Best Abstract Prize (IASP Conference, 2019)
- IASP Travel Grant (2018)
- Best Poster Presentation (2017)
Labs/Teams: Active in the Pain and Motor System Plasticity group and the Center for Neuroplasticity and Pain at Aalborg University. He collaborates internationally and serves on the IASP Digital Strategy and Content Working Group since 2021.
