Denise Bruxelles is an Instructor in Critical Inquiry at Mercy University's School of Liberal Arts. She holds a B.A. in English from George Washington University, an M.S. in Secondary English Education from Pace University, an Ed.M. in Curriculum Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an Ed.D. in Learning & Instruction from SUNY University at Buffalo. She is National Board Certified in Teaching Adolescent and Young Adult English and holds an Instructional Leadership Certification from Relay GSE.

Her research focuses on postsecondary transitions, inclusive curriculum design, and expanding college access. She advocates for collaborative and equitable pedagogical practices. Prior roles include 15 years in NYC Public Schools as a teacher and instructional leader, and curriculum design for SEO Scholars, Expeditionary Learning, and Great Minds.
Notable awards include the Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching and the Changemaker Ed.D. Dissertation Award for her work 'Readiness Reimagined.' At Mercy, she leads the COMPASS/Title V Grant as Instructional Designer and is a First Year Seminar Fellow.
