Deneen Harris

Dr. Deneen Harris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU). She holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a B.S.W. in Social Work from Southern Illinois University, an M.S.W. from Southern Illinois University, and a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Alabama.

Her research focuses on child welfare practice and policy, social work education, and HIV infection among older African-Americans. Dr. Harris has professional experience as a child welfare consultant and quality assurance reviewer, integrating practical expertise into her academic role.
