Debra K. Newman

Debra K. Newman, PhD is a Professor in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, serving as a Senior Investigator at Versiti Blood Research Institute and an Adjunct Professor in Microbiology & Immunology. Her research focuses on thrombosis, hemostasis, immunology, and vascular biology with a specific emphasis on platelet biology and PECAM-1 signaling pathways.

She holds a PhD in Immunology from Marquette University (1989). Her work addresses platelet function in pediatric cardiac surgery patients and explores PECAM-1's dual roles in inhibiting thrombosis and suppressing T cell anti-tumor responses through TGFβ interactions.
