Debra Dianne Murray, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics. She serves as Co-Director of Community Engagement (MHG), Director of Genetics/Genomics Education Programs in the Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC), and holds roles in the Intellectual Developmental and Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC) - Community Engagement and Outreach.

Her research focuses on genetics, genomics, and molecular genetics, with an emphasis on community engagement and outreach initiatives. Dr. Murray leads education programs funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) to increase diversity in genomic sciences through training programs like Genetics/Genomics Research Education and Training and Pre-Graduate Education Training.
She is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American Society of Cell Biology, Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science, and the National Association of Medical Minority Educators. Dr. Murray also holds a Managerial Leadership Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin/Red McComb School, enhancing her administrative expertise in scientific training and outreach.
