Deborah Rogers is a Professor of English at the University of Maine, located in Orono, ME. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University (1982) and specializes in Gothic literature, 18th-century British literature, and the Enlightenment. Her research explores themes such as maternal representation in Gothic narratives, the works of Ann Radcliffe, and the intersection of literature with cultural and political history.
Professor Rogers has authored and edited multiple books, including The Matrophobic Gothic and Its Offspring (2007) and Becoming Modern: The University of Maine, 1965-2015 (2023). Her publications span critical anthologies, biographies, and studies of 18th-century publishing networks.
