Deborah Magee is a Scholarly Teaching Fellow in the School of Nursing, Paramedicine and Healthcare Sciences at Charles Sturt University (CSU), while concurrently completing her full-time PhD in the Ageing Well in Rural and Regional Australia Research Group. Her research focuses on organizational culture and care cultures in aged care sectors, emphasizing registered nurses' perspectives in rural Australia. She teaches in the Bachelor of Nursing program and actively participates in professional organizations such as the Australian College of Nursing and Gerontological Alliance of Nurses Australia.
Education:
- Master of Philosophy (2021): Evaluated a peer mentor project for nursing students using Participatory Action Research.
- Bachelor of Nursing (1993): CSU.
Key Achievements:
- Recipient of the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship (2025) and CSU Postgraduate Research Scholarship (2016).
- Lead researcher on grants addressing rural aged care workforce requirements and culturally inclusive gerontological practices.
Professional Contributions:
- Co-supervised an HDR project on paramedic experiences treating opioid overdoses in rural NSW.
- Contributed to Mask-Ed scenario development for health education and participated in the CSEdX 2024 conference.
