Deborah Hobson is a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Practice at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), affiliated with the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences. She contributes to curricula development and student support on paramedic programs, teaching modules like Preparation for Placement and Learning in Higher Education. Prior to academia, she served in the South Yorkshire Ambulance Service (1982–2013), holding roles including Shift Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and Senior Clinical Development Tutor. Notably, she spent three years at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and pioneered clinical education programs.
Her expertise focuses on Pre-Hospital Trauma and Simulation in Paramedic Education, with innovations in moulage scenarios and equipment management.
