Dr. Debora Zamora Kaliski is an Associate Professor at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). A first-generation graduate from San Antonio, Texas, she earned her PhD in Biology-Neuroscience from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2008. Her academic journey includes postdoctoral research at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) focusing on redox-sensitive mitochondrial protein modifications in arteriosclerosis.

Research Interests span neurobiology, molecular biology, and medical education, with a focus on mentoring underrepresented minorities in STEM. Her work includes studying central respiratory chemoreceptors in amphibians and mitochondrial mechanisms in vascular diseases.
Publications highlight educational innovations, such as narrated dissection videos and peer-mentoring strategies to improve anatomy performance in physical therapy students.
