Deanne Hall is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, holding dual roles as an Ambulatory Care Clinical Specialist at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and Director of the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program. She has been actively involved in pharmacy education since 2001, leading curriculum development and coordinating the Case Conference Series for early-year students. Her research emphasizes program evaluation, pharmacist impact in ambulatory settings, and innovative learning platforms.
Dr. Hall earned her BS in Pharmacy (1996) and PharmD (1998) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, followed by a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She practiced ambulatory care in Arizona before returning to Pitt Pharmacy/UPMC in 2000.
Her expertise spans patient care education, ambulatory practice, and interprofessional collaboration. Notable achievements include the 2016 American Pharmacist Association Immunization Champion award and 2005 Preceptor of the Year award. She chairs the Pitt Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Council and serves as an ASHP accreditation surveyor.
Her work integrates clinical practice with education, focusing on improving care transitions, pharmacist-led services, and technology-enhanced learning. She has authored multiple publications addressing ambulatory care trends, diabetes education, and assessment methodologies.
