Dean L. Mann, MD, is a Professor and Head of the Division of Immunogenetics in the Department of Pathology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, with a joint appointment in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. He is also affiliated with the Marlene and Stuart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center's Program in Oncology.

His work includes isolating soluble HLA molecules, elucidating their role in immune regulation, and discovering HLA allele associations with autoimmune diseases and HIV progression. At Maryland, he developed an FDA-approved immunotherapy protocol for advanced cancers.
Publications: Over 260 peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals including Science, Nature, and Nature Medicine, with ~16,000 citations. His work bridges immunology, virology, and oncology through collaborations with pioneers like Robert Gallo.
