Thomas Vauvert F. Hviid

Thomas Vauvert F. Hviid is a Clinical Professor at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Department of Clinical Medicine, with specialization in Clinical Biochemistry. In cancer immunology, he examines immune effector cells at tumor sites and mechanisms of tumor escape from host immune responses. His research combines biochemical immunology, molecular biology, immunogenetics, and cellular immunology approaches to understand the balance between inflammatory responses and immune tolerance.

His publications reveal a consistent focus on HLA molecules (particularly HLA-F and HLA-G), regulatory immune cells, and biomarkers in both reproductive complications and cancer progression. Recent work demonstrates translational applications in improving diagnostic approaches for pregnancy complications and potential targets for cancer immunotherapy.
