Dr. David Wolk is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he serves as Chief of the Division of Cognitive Neurology and Director of the National Institute of Aging-funded Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. He is also Co-Director of the Penn Institute on Aging and the Penn Memory Center.
- Education: MD from Johns Hopkins University, Neurology residency at University of Pennsylvania, Clinical Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School
His research focuses on the cognitive neuroscience of memory decline in aging and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), utilizing structural and functional MRI, FDG and molecular PET imaging, and behavioral testing. He investigates biomarkers differentiating healthy aging from early AD, their role in disease mechanisms, and integration into treatment trials. Additional work targets heterogeneity in AD classification and prediction.
- Scientific Award: Norman Geschwind Prize in Behavioral Neurology
Dr. Wolk has sustained NIH funding since 2003, leading numerous local, national, and international therapeutic trials. He currently does not accept new patient appointments.
