David Williams

David Williams is Professor of Stroke Medicine at RCSI and consultant at Beaumont Hospital. He holds a Trinity College Dublin medical degree (1994), a PhD in pharmacoepidemiology (2002), and diplomas in toxicology/medical education. Research covers stroke care, hypertension, and medication safety.

Leads national programs: ICAT (clinical training) and Irish Stroke Trials Network. Awards include fellowships from European Stroke Organisation and British Pharmacological Society. Recent publications address stroke imaging, cognitive rehabilitation, and thrombectomy outcomes. Directs HRB-funded projects like iPASTAR.
