David Thorsén is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Education, Stockholm University. His research focuses on the intersection of medicine and education through historical and pedagogical lenses, particularly examining visual and material culture in science education and health teaching practices.

Current projects analyze relationships between schools and museums from 1880-1980, funded by the Swedish Research Council. Recent publications examine object-based learning, teacher-scientists in early 20th century Sweden, and dissection practices in science education.
