Elisabeth Bladh is a Senior Lecturer and Docent at Stockholm University's Department of Swedish Language and Multilingualism (TÖI), where she also serves as Deputy Director since January 2023. She previously held positions as a Reader in French at the University of Gothenburg and has extensive experience in translation studies and French linguistics.
Her research focuses on literary translation (particularly Francophone literature in Swedish translation), Bible translation, contrastive linguistics, and second language acquisition pedagogy for French in Sweden. She has secured significant research funding including projects on Francophone literature in Swedish translation during the 20th century and Francophone Caribbean literature in Swedish translation.
Her recent publications examine self-translation practices, the role of translation within Romance language education and research, and textual criticism of Strindberg's scientific writings. Her scholarly work demonstrates consistent engagement with translation theory, multilingual writing practices, and the intersection of language and power.

Bladh has served on editorial boards for journals including Moderna Språk, Atelier de traduction, and Revue nordique des études francophones. She co-supervised Maria Forsman's doctoral research at the University of Gothenburg and has developed innovative teaching materials including a French language learning podcast. She is an active member of the Network Language and Power research group at Stockholm University.
