Alice Pick Duhan is a Research Fellow in French and Comparative Literature at Stockholm University’s Department of Romance Studies and Classics. She specializes in translingual literary practices, focusing on multilingualism, self-translation, and contemporary French/Francophone fiction. Her work bridges literary theory and global comparative frameworks, with projects funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR) and STINT.
- Current roles include VR-funded project leader for Translingual Writing post-1945 and the Multilingual Spaces of French Fiction (2025–2027).
- Member of research groups: Forum Modernism, Romance Linguistics (RomLing), and Transcultural Literary Studies.
- Teaches courses like Culture and Identity and Modern French Literature at undergraduate level.
Her research explores translingualism through case studies like Nancy Huston and Vassilis Alexakis, analyzing how multilingualism reshapes literary creativity and global literary spaces. Recent collaborative projects include Mediating the Maghreb (STINT-funded) and co-editing Francographie au féminin on 19th/20th-century Swedish-French translingual writers.
Upcoming work includes archival research at Library and Archives Canada (2024) and presentations at the Écrire et traduire au féminin research network (2025–2026). She also serves as Assistant Editor of the Nordic Journal of Francophone Studies.
