David Tanenbaum serves as Chair of the Guitar Department at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he received the 1995 Outstanding Professor Award. An internationally renowned performer described by The New York Times as 'a master of the instrument', he has premiered works by composers including Hans Werner Henze, Terry Riley, and Aaron Jay Kernis. His career spans 40+ years of concert performance across six continents, with 36 recordings showcasing diverse repertoire.
