Brian Ming Chu serves as an Instructor of Music, Voice at Muhlenberg College, where he has taught for fifteen years. He is an acclaimed baritone specializing in dynamic interpretations across repertoire spanning Baroque to the Great American Songbook, with regular performances in major oratorios, choral works, and operas.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University
- Graduate studies in Voice and Opera at the Peabody Conservatory of Music
Mr. Chu specializes in oratorio and choral performance, with extensive experience in Mendelssohn’s Elijah (title role), Bach Passions, Handel’s Messiah across three continents, and contemporary art song collaborations with composers like Aaron Jay Kernis and Adam Guettel. His operatic repertoire features signature roles including Marcello in La Bohème and the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, alongside premieres of new works such as John Muehleisen’s A Kipling Passion.
