معرفی
David Talaga is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Montclair State University, part of the College of Science and Mathematics. His research focuses on understanding amyloid formation mechanisms and their implications in diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Type II Diabetes. He leads the Talaga Lab, which employs advanced biophysical techniques such as single molecule fluorescence, solid-state nanopores, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to study protein aggregation and drug stability.
Research interests include:
- Mechanisms of amyloid growth and interconversion of protein species,
- Stability of polypeptide drugs against fibril formation,
- Development of nanopore technology for protein identification.
His work combines experimental approaches with global data analysis to address challenges in protein misfolding and aggregation. The lab’s innovations aim to improve diagnostics for amyloidogenic diseases and enhance pharmaceutical drug formulations.
