Professor David Stensel is a leading academic in Exercise Metabolism and Public Health at Loughborough University, UK. He holds the position of Professor of Exercise Metabolism and serves as Associate Dean for Research in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences. His research focuses on the interplay between physical activity, metabolic health, and chronic diseases. He leads the Lifestyle Theme for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Leicester Biomedical Research Centre and contributes to the International Journal of Obesity as an Associate Editor.
Stensel's education includes a BA (Hons) in Sport Studies and History, PGCE in Physical Education and History, MSc in Physical Education and Sports Science, and a PhD funded by the British Heart Foundation, all from Loughborough University. He has held roles such as Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise, and Reader in Exercise Metabolism.
