David Smelson

David Smelson is a Tenured Professor of Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School and Director of the Center of Excellence in Addictions. He holds additional appointments at Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Population Health Sciences and the Millennium MD/PhD Program. With over 25 years of consecutive federal funding from NIH, VA, BJA, and SAMHSA, his work focuses on addiction treatment, mental health disorders, and implementation science for vulnerable populations including veterans and justice-involved individuals.
