David Shumaker

David Shumaker is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Suffolk University, where he serves as Graduate Program Director for Mental Health Counseling. He holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and a BA from Harvard University.

His research focuses on existential-integrative therapy, particularly its application to adolescent mental health. Key interests include existential anxiety in adolescence, correlations between existential anxiety and Five Factor Model personality configurations, and integrating existential approaches into empirically validated treatments.
