David R. Martinez

David R. Martinez, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunobiology at the Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on immunity to viral pathogens, particularly arboviruses and coronaviruses, with contributions to vaccine development for diseases like Dengue and SARS-CoV-2. He has been instrumental in the development of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and contributed to monoclonal antibody therapies (e.g., Eli Lilly/AstraZeneca). His lab investigates mucosal immunity, antibody-mediated protection, and placental transfer of antibodies in HIV infection.
