David Pinder is a Professor in the Department of People and Technology at Roskilde University, Denmark. His work bridges urban studies, geography, planning, and critical theory, focusing on how urban spaces are socially produced, contested, and reimagined. A key theme involves revitalizing the concept of utopia within urbanism, particularly through twentieth-century modernist and avant-garde movements. His research engages with the Situationists, psychogeography, radical cartographies, and sound art, while exploring ephemeral/nomadic urbanism and mobile/temporary architectures.

Current projects include Nordic Liveable Cities, Spatial Justice, and Living with Nordic Lighting. His upcoming book examines the politics and poetics of urban walking.
