David Peterson is an Interim Academic Unit Head and Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business at James Madison University (JMU). He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma (2013), with prior roles including Assistant Professorships at JMU (2016–2023) and Warwick Business School (2013–2016). His expertise spans leadership, creativity/innovation, organizational behavior, teams, and evidence-based management.
Research interests include leadership styles, team dynamics, creativity in organizations, and decision-making processes. Notable contributions include studies on shared leadership moderation, divergent thinking in creativity, and leadership transitions in teams. He has published in journals like Group and Organization Management and Creativity Research Journal.
