Dr. David P Breen is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, and the Usher Institute. His research focuses on Parkinson’s disease, particularly sleep/circadian rhythm dysfunction, genetic/environmental risk factors, and non-motor symptoms. He leads the Dundee and Edinburgh Parkinson’s Research Initiative, driving PD clinical research and clinical trials capacity. Supported by a Wellcome Fellowship, his work emphasizes patient participation and biomarker development.
Education: MBChB (Edinburgh, 2005), PhD in Clinical Neurosciences (Cambridge, 2015). Clinical roles include movement disorders and general neurology clinics in NHS Lothian.
