معرفی
David E. Oram is a Professor and NCAS Professorial Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia (UEA), based in the School of Environmental Sciences. His primary affiliation is with the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) and the Trace Gas Laboratory, part of the Atmospheric Composition Directorate. He holds a BSc in Chemistry (University of York, 1985), MSc in Atmospheric Science (UEA, 1987), and a PhD from UEA.
His research focuses on atmospheric composition, including global distributions of halocarbons, greenhouse gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Key techniques include gas chromatography (GC), GC-MS, and PTR-MS. His work contributes to international assessments like the WMO/UNEP Ozone Depletion Report and IPCC climate reports. Recent projects address ozone layer recovery, sulfur cycle dynamics, and VOC emissions from oceans and urban areas.
Oram has led 43+ research projects funded by the Natural Environment Research Council, including initiatives like InHALE (halocarbon impacts), COCO-VOC (marine VOCs), and CARES (sulfur in Earth systems). His publications span over 100 peer-reviewed articles, addressing topics such as chlorofluorocarbon trends, methyl chloroform emissions, and novel greenhouse gas identification.
