Dr. David M. Wasieleski is the Albert P. Viragh Professor of Business Ethics and Executive Director of the Institute for Business Ethics at Duquesne University's Palumbo-Donahue School of Business. He also serves as an Affiliate Research Professor at ICN Business School (France) and Co-Chair Holder of UNESCO's Chair in Art and Science for Sustainability. His research explores natural science approaches to ethical decision-making, cognitive biases, and sustainability systems. Dr. Wasieleski has held leadership roles including President of the U.S. Chapter of the International Humanistic Management Association (2019-2021) and Editor-in-Chief of Business and Society Review.
He earned a Ph.D. in Business Environment and Public Policy from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.B.A. from Duquesne University, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary solutions for ethical challenges in organizations and sustainability.
His research interests span ethical innovation, humanistic management, and the intersection of cognitive science with business ethics. Recent publications address temporal dynamics of ethics, transdisciplinary sustainability frameworks, and aesthetic rationality in organizational decision-making. His awards include the 2009 Society for Business Ethics Article of the Year.
