Dr. Wenqi Zhou is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Technology at Duquesne University's Palumbo-Donahue School of Business. She holds affiliations with the Albert P. Viragh Institute for Ethics in Business, the Grefenstette Center, and CMU's CASOS and IDeaS. Her research focuses on AI, online user-generated content, healthcare IS, information transparency, and tech ethics, employing econometrics and computational methods. She teaches undergraduate courses in information systems and business intelligence, as well as graduate behavioral analytics.
Dr. Zhou earned a Ph.D. in Information and Technology Management from George Washington University. She has secured grants such as the Paluse Faculty Research Grant (2022-2023) and the David Warco Faculty Fellowship (2021-2024). Notable awards include the Michael J. Shaw Best Reviewer Award (2021), Dean's Excellence in Research (2022, 2024), and multiple Best Paper recognitions.
Her work explores topics like AI misinformation, healthcare policy impacts, and consumer behavior in digital markets. Recent publications address privacy protection in innovation communities and cognitive biases in pandemic misinformation. She serves as Associate Editor for Information & Management and Academic Editor for PLoS ONE.
Dr. Zhou founded Duquesne's IST Mentorship Program, connecting students with regional industry leaders. Her research grants and awards reflect sustained excellence in both scholarship and pedagogy.
