Prof. David M. Anderson is a Professor of African History at the University of Warwick’s Global History & Culture Centre. He specializes in African political history, colonialism, and socio-economic transformations in the Global South. Anderson is a leading scholar on East Africa, with notable works analyzing colonial counter-insurgency strategies and postcolonial state dynamics.

His current research includes projects funded by the Leverhulme Trust and AHRC, focusing on African counter-insurgency histories and transnational public office dynamics. Anderson advises doctoral students across disciplines at Cologne University and contributes to media discussions on African politics.
