Dr. David Lawrence is an Assistant Professor in Biolaw at the Durham Law School and a member of the Durham CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences). His research focuses on the ethical, legal, and policy implications of emerging biotechnologies, including neurotechnologies, implantable devices, and human enhancement. He leads a project on synthetic biology's role in creating new lifeforms and serves as an editor for Clinical Neuroethics and the Cambridge Quarterly of Healthcare Ethics.
