Dr Mike Adcock is an Assistant Professor at Durham Law School and affiliated with the Durham CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences). His roles include teaching and research in Intellectual Property and Biotechnology law, focusing on intersections between science, law, and bioethics. He holds a PhD in Plant Sciences (University of Sheffield, 1992) and a postgraduate law qualification from Nottingham University (2003). His career includes pioneering work on EU plant IP projects and multidisciplinary bioethics initiatives.
Research interests encompass intellectual property rights (IPRs) in biotechnology, access to medicines, plant genetic resources, and bioethics.
