David Kamerer, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Public Relations and Digital Media at Loyola University Chicago’s School of Communication. He directs the MS in Global Strategic Communication program and teaches courses on public relations, new media campaigns, public service communication, and research methods in advertising.

Kamerer’s research examines the commercialization and ethical challenges of digital and social media, with a focus on campaign measurement, media literacy, and the societal impacts of communication technologies. He has contributed to discussions on digital analytics and the corruption of online platforms.
His recent publications highlight trends in digital marketing, including web analytics, native advertising, and the ethics of sponsored content. His work addresses online audience estimation, consumer trust in review platforms like Yelp, and transparency in influencer marketing.
