David Hussey

Dr David Hussey serves as the Head of the Department of History, Politics and War Studies at the University of Wolverhampton’s Faculty of Arts, Business, and Social Sciences. His research focuses on early modern history, particularly trade, domestic consumption, material culture, and gender studies with emphasis on masculinity and singleness in the long eighteenth century.

• MA in British History (University of Leeds)

His publications explore intersections of gender and consumer behavior, urban domestic life, and material culture. Recent grants include the Football and War Network (2018-2022). He has supervised research projects on household economies and consumption practices. Professional activities include peer reviewing for the Journal of Transport History and leadership roles in his department since 2016.
