David Hunter

Dr David J. Hunter is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Healthcare at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), based in the School of Health and Life Sciences. He holds a Professional Doctorate in Health, Social Care, and Nursing (2017) and has extensive clinical and academic experience in nursing education and practice. Prior to UWS, he worked at the University of Glasgow from 2018–2021 as a Lecturer in Nursing & Healthcare.

Recent Research Trends: Focuses on LGBTQ+ student nurses' experiences, interprofessional education, and stroke rehabilitation practices. Recent work explores compassionate care in emergency departments and spiritual care in healthcare teams.

Labs/Teams: Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on healthcare education and patient-centered care initiatives.
